WOD 5 was a deadlift ladder. No warm-up area.Athletes had to stand around outside 20-30 minutes in the cold with no opportunity to warm up your deadlift, then go for a max deadlift (20 sec to lift, 10 sec to rest/rotate).
I was like:
Needless to say lots of people really hurt themselves. This is a large competition in my area thrown buy a reputable gym, run by a games athlete. This programming was idiotic and dangerous. I won’t be doing this one next year….CRAZY
I got 3rd at an oly meet today. First one so I’m pretty happy! :)
I had no idea this is the face I make when I snatch…that’s unfortunate….must learn to relax. :)
In 2 weeks I will get to spend 2 weeks climbing Machu Picchu and trekking in the Amazon. I refuse to care about anything else until I get back….except my PRs :)
The awesome continues:
- 2nd place in a team competition last weekend
- Seminar Staff interview (went well)
- Got to meet and WOD with some CrossFit A-listers
- 15# Back squat PR (205#)
- Cindy PR (20 rds + 2 squats)
- Leave for the games in 3 days (rented an awesome beach house)
- Peru in a month
Every time I think it can’t get better, it does! it’s raining awesome!
Good news is we got 4th and qualified for day 2…bad news is I must wait another day for my “Gotta Have It” sized Coldstone!
1. Partner competition this weekend
2. Internship at the Ranch at Aromas next week
3. Games (with a beach house) the next week

I got an AMAZING CrossFit internship.
When my coach found out I applied for it, he applied too.
He told people I had no shot in hell of getting it.
I got it.

I’m leaving my gym after the games and I have already started preparing for the painful conversation that has to happen before I can move on to my new (and improved) opportunities.
So awkward that i need so much time to mentally prepare to have a freakin conversation. I need society lessons…. :/
Handstand practice day is the happiest of all days at crossfit <3
I’ve been contemplating switching gyms/coaches and the biggest things holding me back are missing my friends at the gym and the guilt I feel over leaving the coach I’ve been with for 3+ years.
However, I have to go where I’m supported!
I have a competition today and tomorrow and my coach didn’t even acknowledge it! Other people asked me about it with him right there and not even a “good luck”….wow…that is not what CrossFit is about and you have no right to call yourself my coach.
Thank you for taking some of the difficulty out of leaving my previous home.
