I am much poorer today…but I also have a ticket for 17 days in Peru!!! Going to Islas Ballestas, Paracas, Cusco, Machu Picchu, and Puerto Maldonado! The wildlife nerd in me is so excited! I’ll put this fitness to work hiking in the Andes!

These are amazeballs. Banana protein bars! Super easy to make. 3 dates, 3 bananas, 3 Tbsp PB, 1.5 scoops casein protein (I used Optimum Nutrition Cookies & Cream), 1/3 C oats, 1/2 tsp baking soda, 1 tsp vanilla, 2 eggs. In your food processor, grind dates into a clumpy paste, add bananas and blend. Then add PB and eggs, blend. Add casein, oats, baking soda and vanilla, blend. Sprinkle chocolate chips over bowl, spread mixture into a 9x9 baking pan. Add more dark chocolate chips on top. Bake for 20 min at 375 f. Cut into 12 squares and love life. Macros per bar: 5.9f, 16.8c, 5.6p (carbs change depending on amt of chocolate)

Great day with a big crash…

Highlights:

  1. My team won 2nd in a local CrossFit competition today
  2. I got a new clean and jerk PR in the comp (155#)
  3. Rowed my fastest 1k EVER (3:10) which helped my team even if it made me want to die.

Big Crash:

After 4 workouts in 5 hours, we went to our favorite brewery (that does not serve food) armed with a pizza and chips. I also had a bag of broccoli coleslaw. So for the next 90 minutes i continued to eat 1 piece of pizza, my husbands 2 crusts from his pizza, and 4 cups of broccoli.

Some guy comes over to my table, puts a giant falafel wrap down in front of me and says “I noticed you haven’t stopped eating since you got here, so I thought you should have this”.

Really….WTF?…Why are you watching me eat that closely?….What business is is of yours?…Are you disgusted by me eating that you need to be that rude without provocation? 

I’m trying not to let him ruin my day. I had to fight back my tears and I can’t get him out of my head…

Been feeling weak lately so I decided to back of metcons and focus on a strength program. Today is day #1, so we’re hitting 1RMs for the next several days to find out what  my starting point is. Drum roll please….

How I imagine instructors come up with WODs.

This gif nails Dave Castro and the celebration of his evilness…. I am prepping for 13.5, doing it at 6:00. My chin-over Fran is 5:07 so there is no way I’m making it to the 2nd 4 minutes. I’m hoping for 75 reps. Wish me luck!
